Dr. Josephine Olsen, DO
Dr. Josephine Olsen is a dedicated and experienced osteopathic physician specializing in family medicine. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Pacific Northwest University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Yakima, WA, in May 2012, and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA, in May 2007.
Most recently Dr. Olsen practiced at Bluestone Physician Services, where she provided geriatric primary care since August 2020. She built strong relationships with residents, families and staff at assisted living, independent living, and memory care facilities across Southwest Florida.
Her previous roles include serving as the Medical Director of Flight Medicine at Joint Base San Antonio – Randolph, TX, where she led healthcare improvement initiatives and compliance inspections, and performed various medical procedures. Dr. Olsen also served as a physician in flight and family medicine at Curaçao Forward Operating Location and in family medicine at Tyndall Air Force Base, FL, and Joint Base San Antonio – Randolph, TX.
Dr. Olsen completed her residency in family medicine at Eglin Air Force Base, FL, where she focused on pain management and developed a guide to weaning patients off controlled substances. She is certified in various life support and medical forensics examinations and has received numerous awards, including the Air Force Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Olsen is actively involved in community service, including coaching youth soccer and assisting with the Boy Scouts. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.
Her interests include biking, hiking, and cooking. Dr. Olsen’s extensive experience and dedication to patient care make her a highly respected physician in her field.
